BY WORD OF MOUTH: Sitting at the holiday table the both sides of the guests (they are divided into 2 teams) have an opportunity to transmit the congratulation or a piece of good news to the Father by word of mouth. To begin with hang a congratulation card, a photo or a letter on the stick or a pencil. The task of the guests is to pass this "piece of news" with the help of lips (without touching it with the hands). The team which transmits the piece of news "by word of mouth" the first wins.
This is a fun game for Grandparent's Day. Grandchildren and friends start the game by standing near desks. A tennis or soft rubber ball is thrown among the players, the grandparent gets the first throw and can then serve as the referee for the rest of the game. The children try to catch the ball thrown, but if they are hit, they sit to the side and is out of the game. (The kids are not allowed to move their feet.) The child standing near where the ball falls throws it the next time, but the grandparent can be designated ball thrower. Only underhand soft throws are allowed. This is a fun game to play with grandparents.
This game can be used as a way to celebrate Grandparent's Day. The players sit in a circle with their hands placed palm to palm, the little fingers downward, between the knees. A grandparent is chosen to act the part of maid. The grandparent takes a ring between their palms, which the palms are kept flat together in the same way as the rest. The grandparent then visits each person in turn and places their hands between the palms of each, so that the grandparent is able to slip the ring into some one's hands without the others knowing. When the grandparent has visited each, the grandparent touches one child, and says:
"My lady's lost her diamond ring;
I fix upon you to find it."
The child touched must then guess who has the ring. If she guess correctly, she becomes the maid; if not, she must pay a forfeit. The maid then touches some one else and repeats the two lines given above. Each guesser may be allowed three trials. The grandparent can reward the winning children with special party favors or prizes.
