PAPER ARROW: For this activity you need a paper plane. It's better to play this game when it's windless. The players are divided into 2 teams. Draw a line on the ground. The first player who is going to throw the plane stands on it. The player of the second team throws the plane from the place where it landed. He/she throws the plane in the opposite direction. The next player of the first team throws the plane in the opposite direction from the place where it landed. So the players of 2 teams take their turns in throwing the plane in the opposite directions. If after the final throw the plane landed at the line, it means that both teams threw the plane equally. If the plane landed far off the line in the direction in which one of the teams threw the plane, this team wins the game.
A great game for Mardi Gras is a fashion show. Each player creates a mask to represent the holiday of Mardi Gras. Nothing is off limits for the mask. The players can search through the house or other areas to find items that can become part of their mask. Each player has 20-30 minutes to gather supplies and create a mask. When time is up, the players then present their masks to the remaining audience. The audience declares a winner and the winner gets to be in charge for the rest of the day.
This is a fun way to celebrate Mardi Gras. The kids divides itself into equal sides, and each side must have a "home" in opposite corners of the room. The sides retire to their own "homes," and one side privately chooses a word related to Mardi Gras, then crosses over to the other corner and gives the initial letter of word related to Mardi Gras. The children on the second side must try and guess the name of word related to Mardi Gras, and when they have done so they catch as many as they can of the opposite side before they reach their "home."
Those caught must go over to the other side, and the game goes on until one side has won all the children. The sides take it in turns to give the name of word related to Mardi Gras.
