Other possible gifts that are sure to please include getting all family members together for brunch. Depending on the budget this can involve a favorite local restaurant or be prepared at home. A surprise dinner after church is often well received. But there's nothing wrong with more elaborate plans to take Mom to a getaway cottage if a large group of adult children chip-in to cover the cost. For some a simple visit that includes planting flowers can be as thoughtful and welcome as anything.
